Democratic Socialist's Meeting

Monday, April 20th, 5:30-7:00PM. Bearden Branch Library meeting room.

On the basis of the survey results, responses at the March 2 meeting, and the one-to-one meetings with individuals that we have had, we are recommending that we formally establish a Knoxville-area DSA organizing committee, effective next month.

Unfortunately, our preferred date, time, and location for an April meeting (first Monday, 5:30 PM - 7 PM, Bearden Branch Library) was taken, so we have instead reserved this same time and location for Monday, April 20, as well as reserving the Bearden Branch Library meeting room for every first Monday from May through September. We will be e-mailing and sending a postcard closer to the April 20 meeting date to all 26 DSA members and contacts to whom we sent the survey . In the meantime, please send any suggestions for the agenda or contact information for any potentially interested individuals to Travis Donoho ( or Jim Orr (

Elder Wisdom

If you would do these things you would change the world. First choose to make a friend of someone you normally would not associate with. Second speak out not just against major injustice but any and all injustice. Third share a meal with someone you do not know. Fourth clean up trash someone else has strewn about. Fifth meditate on how to change the world. Sixth be yourself, your best self.
